Panicking...Stanford Essay Help Needed!! Today is the deadline!!! :-(

Agree essay #1 is much improved--the first vestion was entirely self promoting and preening. Still begin the essay with a better sentence and try to be more direct and personal in tone.

3 is all wrong. Would you really write a personal note to your roommate in essay form? Just be natural and real and say "hey, I hope you aren't like my last creepy roommate", then tell the story.

I do think Stanford applicants should write their own essays, though.

The roommate essay might seem like the hardest, but I would suggest taking it and doing something creative with it. It is basically just an open topic where you can write anything - take advantage of it! Make sure that it says "This is who I am."

As for other essays, write about something that only you can write about.

HAHAHA. I'm loving #3. Just make sure you answer the question, because so far it just seems like you're telling a narrative.

My suggestion for number 3 is to tell the prospective roommate something important about yourself and how you would be to share a room with ie. do you snore, are you a packrat, do you keep a clean room or is it a mess etc. This seems to be more of an opportunity to paint a clearer picture of who you are.

Hey, Peter
let us know if you got your app tucked away in time. We're rooting for you!

i got it in guys 2 min before the deadline ;)...thanks a ton to all of your support. I'll repost up my essays when I get home so future stanford applicants can get some ideas. I really hope I can get in...already got deferred from stupid Wharton. Thanks again for the awesome help
