Okay well I had a 94.8 in English (which is an A) prior to taking the final exam (which is 20% of our final grade).

We had our final exams recently (we take them earlier than other schools because school ends earlier) and our English final consisted of three short essays. Right before the exam, I was reviewing the literary material in my notes when I accidentally got a papercut on my right index finger.

It was painful to write the essays, and thus my performance was hindered. I couldn't finish the last essay, giving me a C on the exam and a B as a final grade in English.

I have A's and A+'s in EVERY other class all throughout high school. It's just the papercut prior to my English 11 exam that broke my finger's skin, broke my 4.0 GPA, and broke my heart.

With bad ECs, I feel uncompetitive and lousy without a 4.0.

In my college essay next fall, can I elaborate on the exam experience which eliminated my chance to have a 4.0?

I could've rocked all those essays without the papercut...
