I think I've finally chosen NEU Honors over Tufts, and I'm finally getting as excited about NEU as I was about it before (up until the day I found out about Tufts... until I realized that Tufts was in no way worth my family selling our home). Enough with the Tufts talk, on to NEU <3

One of the reservations I had about NEU was the fact that I never got to see where I'd be living as a part of the honors program, since Parcel 18 is not open yet. I know that I've heard West Village F is amazing housing, so will Parcel 18 be as good for the next set of freshmen? My mom thinks it'll be great since it's brand new.

What can anyone tell me (besides what's on the website) about Parcel 18? Are people really excited about it?

While Parcel does not have the two bathrooms, full kitchen, living room etc, you do have a dining hall and gym in your building. You also have brand new singles which is pretty nice. Whenever I tell people I lived in F, they say “yea, but you didn’t have the true freshman experience.” I feel like in Parcel, you can have the traditional freshman experience while also having brand new dorms.

Honors freshmen will be leaving in a two doubles connected by a bathroom. There are communal kitchens on each floor, from what I’ve heard. As RedSox said, there is a dining hall downstairs. Only residents of Parcel can use the gym, which is definitely smaller than Marino, but still nice.

^You probably still will, Parcel is massive. And if they split honors like the used to (West F and Kennedy), then I think the other option will still be nice.

But if you’ve really decided, make the deposit, the sooner the better! :D

^Parcel 18 is not even open yet, so no one’s living in it currently
I believe all honors students are guaranteed honors housing but can choose to live elsewhere. Hope that helps!
