What is Pardee's social reputation? I stayed there for a week over the summer and loved the location and the room (except the lack of AC) but I don't really know anything about the social dynamics there. Any info would be awesome!

From what I've heard, Pardee has the reputation of being more low key than New/North and maybe Birnkrant, ...that it's a good combination of social and quiet. Probably a good choice if you like the location near the library and hub of activity, yet don't want to be right in the midst of the party scene.
Keep in mind though, that the 2009 crowd may be different.

Thanks Sequoia- that's exactly what I'm looking for!

My daughter is a freshman and loves Pardee, has made a lot of friends of both sexes. My husband thinks the rooms are tiny but I told him it's been a long time since he was in a dorm room. You will definitely need a fan - my daughter and her roommate have three, and they are on the parking garage side. There were some brutally hot days last August and September. She says the new Parkside dorms are beautiful but too far from everything for her taste.

pardee seemed nice but their floors are unisex. for me that was a negative, but im sure that is preferable to others
