any advice?? im filling a reassignment request form
pros/cons on pardee anyone pleasee =]

Pardee is a very traditional style dorm. It is gender-separated by floors. There is a single washer and dryer on every floor, and no air conditioning. If you’re on the side that faces the parking garage, count yourself lucky. The view isn’t as nice but you don’t have the hot afternoon sun beating in through your window. The Great Outdoors floors are still in Pardee I think, and they organize some outdoorsy type trips every semester that you can sign up for. I lived in Pardee freshman year and I didn’t really like it, but it was alright, and certainly not worse than Marks Hall/Tower or New/North.

Thanks for the tips Hawkwings :)

Okay if my ideal dorm was social but not tooo shabby with the arrangements (E.g. no air conditioning/gross bathrooms) what would be the best option?

Birnkrant is the best option all-around. Unlikely that you’ll get in though. Fluor is next, then probably Parkside. After that it’s a crapshoot, with Trojan Hall at the bottom.

Fluor is likely to be filled at this point since it is largely comprised of special interest floors and student athletes. Birnkrant will be filled up, too.

So, taking those out of the running, ranking from “best” in terms of facilities/social life to “worst”…

Parkside Arts and Humanities
Parkside IRC
New
North
Marks Hall
Marks Tower
Trojan Hall

^ you left out Pardee

I was building off the other posts that were weighing Pardee vs. All other dorms, meaning I left it out on purpose.

But if everyone can’t figure it out, Pardee is really no different than Marks because they’re essentially the same building.

lol i’ve never seen a ranking with marks hall ranked higher than marks tower for social life

“Social life” I think is honestly a moot point. Your connected with three other dorms, so if you wanted to “party” and “meet people,” it’s not impossible. The facilities are slightly better than Marks Tower, simply because:

They are shaded by the buildings and not as hot

Less people = less wear and tear, less random people roaming about
