My mother is a professor at Johns Hopkins University. I want to apply there early decision. How much will this help me to get in?
Also, both my parents are Cornell University alums. How much will this double legacy help?
Thanks!

I’m not sure about JHU. My mother is also a professor, but it’s not a school I would have trouble getting into. I don’t think it would help unless the admissions person knew, but there’s a chance. ED always helps.

Legacy is wishy-washy. They accept some legacies to keep the alum happy, but you never know. Doesn’t hurt to apply.
