DOnt choose to attend college strictly if whether or not it will help you child's aid but yes it will. When analyzing aid there are questions on the FAFSA and some institutional documents that ask the number of people in a household attending college for the next year. This is taken into account when analyzing how much each person will recieve in need based aid. This will not affect merit aid.

my mom will graduate grad school(and will have graduated undergrad 1 1/2 yrs b4 that) half way thru my first yr of college...she loves it but is stressed she is in her senior yr of undergrad(and has been in undergrad for like 8 yrs!!)

Your attending school does not affect your child's EFC or their financial aid.

However, your child being a student will lower your EFC and may help your financial aid situation:)
