You stated that you had a Jr. at AFA. Did the fact that you were a grad help him at all?? My other half is a “second to none” too and our youngest is begining the journey of paperwork. We are going to our first meeting in Feb here in NoVA. Just wondering.

I think it's a "nudge" but not much. If you're in NoVA, then the competition's VERY tough. Every little bit helps. You'll see on the applicant survey, they ask if the applicant is related to a grad or has an active duty or retired parent. As for rank, they only ask if the parent is Enlisted, Officer (O-5 or below), Colonel, or General. Good luck!

My son's school has had at least one person go every year for the past 5 or 6 years from his HS. We are not legal resident of VA, but of FL. Should he try for a congressional out of FL or just try for a Presidential?

Spouse is waiting to be able to retire pinned on, but won't until son graduates. We sure would love to get back to CS, that was one of our best assignments being in DF.

Try for whatever slots you're eligible is always the rule. The more options, the better your chances. Go for FL and Pres.
