Parent Non-US Tax Return on CSS profile

Hello,

I am the father of an international student who is trying to apply to colleges in the USA. Please help me.

I’m struggling with CSS Profile for weeks. I don’t have any idea on the question “Itemize the sources and amounts for the taxes and withholdings amount entered above”.

That question is on #12 on the “Parent Non-US Tax Return”. It pops up after you enter something into the tax box(#11 “All taxes, mandatory withholdings, and set-asides paid or withheld. Include income taxes, state taxes, local taxes, levies, and mandatory retirement payments.*”)

@happymomof1

Does that place I keep asking you about help international students with these forms?

Maybe. It will depend on what the counselors are familiar with. At minimum, they should be able to help the student sort through the English in the instructions.

https://educationusa.state.gov/ follow the links at https://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center to find the advising center closest to where you live.

If you are in the middle east, the advising center might be https://www.amideast.org/ instead.

Thank happymomof1 for your kind comments.
Unfortunately, I can’t find any center in Korea on the website.

@Kiyong - At https://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center click on the box for “Location”, then scroll down to “Republic of Korea” . That will get you to this list: https://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center?field_region_target_id=&field_country_target_id=288&field_center_level_value=All I hope the counselors can give you a hand with this.

You could also ask in the International Students Forum here. Here’s the direct link: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/

Wishing you all the best!
