Parent orientation - how useful?

Our twins have signed up for orientation in June, at slightly different times. There is a separate parent orientation that I guess lasts the same 2.5 days, but it costs $85 (each, I think) and you have to stay in a hotel. Does anyone know how useful or not this is? I'm sure our kids could care less whether we go, but we'll have to drive them out and back if we don't stay. Or just one of us could go. If it's valuable I guess we'll bite the bullet and both go.

thanks

IMHO, it’s not particularly valuable unless you want to meet some other parents or are really unfamiliar with the place.

Well, that’s good to know. Maybe just one of us could go - or not.
thanks
