parent status on CSS profile

<p>My parent divorced this spring, but they live together for now because
they need each other's help to pay for the apartment rent, utility bills, etc.</p>

<p>On CSS profile, </p>

<p>"What is your current marital status of the student's biological or adoptive parent?"</p>

<p>If I say that they are divorced, then I need to indicate which of the two parents I am living with currently, but I live with both of them. </p>

<p>What should I put??</p>

<p>choices are: </p>

<p>separated
Divorced
married
never married, living separately
never married, living together
widowed</p>

<p>Since you are living with each of them the same amount of time, then the one who contributes the most toward your living expenses is your custodial parent for financial aid purposes. In your particular case, that would probably be whichever of them has the greatest income.</p>
