I was just curious as to how supportive your parents are about you applying to BS? If you are a parent, why did you decide you wanted your child to attend? My parents are kind of adopting a wait and see attitude:we'll let you apply, fill out the appropriate forms and then look at it again if you're accepted. Just wondering about everyone else. :D

My parents are against it in every aspect! They refuse to even consider the possibility, and won’t supply me with the money for the SSAT and applications fees, or even fill out the parent statement! I got a job to cover some of the expenses, and I’m borrowing the rest of the money from my aunt. She and my uncle are filling out the parent statement. The only way I’m going to boarding school is if I get full financial aid and get emancipated. It’s a long shot for sure, but I have to try.

Well that makes me feel luckier. I have had to pay for some stuff out of my savings but my mother caved in and payed the money for my SSAT and Interview expenses… Good Luck with your parents!

my parents had me schedule all my interviews I had to do the SSAT registration by my self (my mom gave me the card) and I did all researching and such by my self.

my dad drives me to my interviews with my sister. my mom has like no involvement really but she is semi-supportive. ie she wants me to get out of the public school system in my city.

i just realised there is a thread for this in the cafe. Sorry, I should have searched first!

pff who cares!? have two! it doesn’t matter if you double up threads.

Ah thanks. My brother says I worry to much what other people think.
What schools are you applying to?
I should go and work on my essays but I’m going to go read fanfiction instead :)
