Parental insight welcome: depression, suicide and asian-american students

<p>Hi CC parents, </p>

<p>I'm new to posting on CC, but wanted to start because I've noticed lots of Asian American students raising similar concerns about school and family expectations. A few have even expressed a strong sense of discouragement. At the very extreme, this year, we've seen suicides of Asian-American students at schools, such as Cal Tech and UC Berkeley. </p>
