PA-C, where you not also looking at Middlesex initially? What was your impression?
My son loved both schools but for different reasons. He was comfortable at both but definitely felt that SMS was more relaxed.

Yes son loved Middlesex and so did we. They seemed to be looking for all around good, smart kids. The focus didn’t seem to be as big on sports as on the “scholar athlete” meaning academics come first. I liked that. The kids were all adorable! He liked that there was no dress code. I liked the circle part of the campus.
Alas he was waitlisted so it wasn’t a choice for us.
Let us know what you decide!

I wonder what CDNM decided???

We choose…St_Mark’s! Revisit day was great and we loved the innovative ways that we were taught math by two great teachers. The dynamic way we (and our son in the classes he attended) interacted with teachers was the clincher in the end. See you there!

Great news.
Hockey should rock this year…Coach Ried must be happy!
Bonjour.

Hi hockeymom!

I am a senior girl at SM. I have been there all 4 years. Now Middlesex has a gorgeous campus and wonderful academics. It is a great school. I love going there for games.

However, the people there tend to be all the same. They are all very smart, athletic, attractive people. I have encountered both friendly and unfriendly people there. Whereas at St. Mark’s people are different. Everyone has their own thing and is able to contribute to the school. There is a girl in my class who took an A.C.E (athletic exemption basically) for the winter season because she has her own clothing line that is starting to take off. There is a sophomore girl who is going to an international crew program this summer that is invitation only and it is an incredible experience. There are such a wide range of people and everyone here is really friendly. We are all very supportive and community-oriented as well as having amazing school spirit.

Our boys basketball team played middlesex in the semi finals. MX brought over a hundred kids. We only brought 40 yet we completely out-cheered them.

My class this year has done very well with colleges. Everyone has been accepted to their top choices. We have a girl recruited to brown for lacrosse another to michigan for crew. A boy got recruited to florida his junior year for basketball.

They are getting a new college counselor next year, so I don’t know if that will affect anything, but SM does help you with colleges. I got waitlisted at my top choice and my college counselor called up my school supporting me and advocating me.

Also I have seen the hockey team in its ups and downs. This year was a bit depressing. However they are improving and the team is very tight-knit and supportive of each other. They also always have tons of fans supporting them. Plus they did heavily recruit this year so perhaps the team will be better next year. If not your son will have the opportunity to actually play and improve whereas if he was at middlesex it might be harder for him to play.

I know its past april 10th but I just wanted to give you my feedback!
