Any parents out there in the CC community going to be at the parents orientation for incoming Freshman in mid August? This is my last child to leave home, I may need some moral support (or as my husband says...a box of kleenex!)

My son graduated a year ago from Davidson, but I just had to respond: many (most?) parents go to the orientation Davidson provides for parents, and, as I recall, at the first one they give a pack of tissues to each parent! Good luck to you and your student.

I recall Davidson orientation as being very nicely geared to parents as well as students--you will find moral support in the sense that you will meet other parents, and more to the point you will leave feeling that you have left your freshman in a great place. if you are able to go back for parents weekend you will be abel to put the various pieces of hte puzzle together and feel even mroe comfortable.

My mom is going to parents orientation and I am the youngest...she cried the day I got on the plane to leave for scholar's weekend...I am sure you will not be the only one to need a box of tissues, and it is much better if other people are crying too! (or at least I find it helpful lol)

Your child could not be in a finer place for the next four years-they'll pass fast. The administration, faculty, staff, townspeople, and, most of all,the students are all so friendly it's unreal. The campus and town are safe and beautiful.Being part of the Davidson family makes you all very fortunate indeed.Congratulations.
