<p>Are anyone's parents pressuring them to go to a certain college that you aren't too fond of? Or is anyone going to be attending/or already attending a college that they don't really like just for your parents?</p>
<p>I expect some pressure, but the amount of control they have is directly proportional to the amount they are paying.</p>
<p>BTW, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone post so many threads on this forum in so little time.</p>

<p>EDIT: To give a little more detail, my parents like small schools even though I’d prefer to attend a large one. They’re making me apply to at least one very small school, but I get to pick it. That’s a pretty good compromise - perhaps you could suggest something similar to your parents?</p>
<p>I sort of am attending the college my parents wanted, I suppose. My whole life they geared me towards going to UC Berkeley, it was like “Berekely Berkeley Berkeley” whenever they talked about good colleges. If not Berkeley, they wanted me to go to a UC anyways. And because I liked the UC’s well enough, especially Berkeley, and Berkeley is a great school, I ended up just saying “I’ll be happy there, and they’ll be happy, so I’ll apply to some UCs.” Other than that, I only really thought about and tried applying to one other school-Stanford-but that didn’t work out…so I ended up going to the college my parents wanted.
But luckily, I really wanted it too 
so it wasn’t a problem.</p>
<p>I think you already read my other posts about my parents with CC, but my compromise would be for me to just apply to the colleges and see what happens from there.</p>
