@carpathia and @tumagmom Thank you both for your thoughtful replies. @tumagmom, yes, she communicates if she is in any kind of distress which is a comfort. I appreciate you reminding me of the importance of that. I’m not sure that I would always be able to tell from far away how severe the crisis is though. Luckily the school in question is a just a short nonstop flight away. She has expressed interest in a school that is much harder to get to. She has worked really hard in high school and I would hate for her to think I don’t believe in her. She also finished the final essay she had to write so it seems like she is back feeling confident in her decision. I will talk to her more about it tonight. @carparthia that is so great that your son has already applied EA to a bunch of schools! My D24 has applied EA to one local school that has a lot of great academic programs, but doesn’t have the fit she is looking for in terms of location, size, size of classes etc.
