@gemini2727, definitely ask! That’s what our financial advisor told us to do, thank goodness. We ended up getting another $6k/year by talking to the FA office. They told us about a couple of scholarships that we hadn’t heard of yet. That extra money made the difference for us.
Thanks so much, this gives me hope, will definitely be asking!
Kid1 has been accepted to his EA school, and just recently for another commuter school that’s rolling, and even when that good news does come, the big hurdle for our family is the financial aid package. The waiting is difficult, I think I am more distracted than kid1. I used the net price calculator for all the schools to which he applied during the summer of 2017, and I’ve just recently re-run the NPC again with the same numbers, and have received some different results, in 1 case a swing of over 10K. Good news is that he’s accepted at the financial safety, but I know he’d prefer not commuting…but it’s something to provide a little comfort. When I do this again with kid2 next year, I hope I’ll just be able to roll with it better than I am right now.
