Parents of the HS Class of 2008

WOOT WOOT!!! Younger s has 2 great interviews yesterday and today (one more scheduled on Monday). The interviewer today tried to circumvent the national hiring process and hire him directly for the local office!! He is not sure he wants to stay in the4 city he is currently in, so told the interviewer he was flattered but would like to see all the opportunities that are available!!!

Older s is on the opposite coast at an all-day interview that sort of fell into his lap. This could be an interesting day!!

Fantastic news, jym! Hope your guys wind up where they want to be, doing something they love to do.

Great news, jym! What a thrill, and what a boost for your younger S to be wanted and feel that he has options. It’s kind of like getting that first college acceptance. (I assume older S is already employed.)

Jym, sending you a virtual margarita!! great news for both.

wonderful news jym!! sending positive thoughts your S’s way. :)

Great news jym.

Woot woot!! All interviews for both sons are progressing to the next stage!! Proud of those guys.

The news gets even better!

Go boy children!

Great news Jym. I hope the next stage goes well.

My D has 3 finals interviews scheduled for good possiblilities. She’s going to NYC for one today. She was very impressed that the company put her on an acela train from Philly! She’s been consumed with the job process and would love to get an offer and get back to being a college student.

Great news about everyone’s 2012’s! Such a tough time for them to be entering the job market.

congrats momjr!! And thanks everyone! Stay tuned, and good luck to all your kiddos. It will happen for all of them. I promise :)

I think your good wishes helped. We got some good news yesterday. My D got an offer from the company she interviewed with on Friday! It’s a great offer, but not in her top choice location. She has a final interview next week that she thinks she would prefer, but this one feels great.

Younger s (the 2012’er) has 2 follow-up/corporate interviews set up next week! One happens to be here in our hometown, so we might get to see him when they fly him in!

Older s is working through negotiations with his offer-- lots of bugs to work through thoug, so not sure what will happen, and if it will be enough to make him give up his current job. But its exciting!

Congrats Jym! I hope everything works out. I bet you’re rooting for the hometown job.

Thanks, momjr. Hometown interview is not necessarily the location of the job :frowning: Also, he’s been reading mixed reviews about this company from employees, so we’ll see.

Well, a little snafoo. The good news is he got the third interview as well. The bad news is, the one on Weds filled up, so they need to change it to Friday. All THREE inerviews are now scheduled for the same Friday, in different cities :(. I guess they will work something out.

Oh no, Jym. I hope he can work things out.

They schedule these in group/all day interviews so I am not sure what they weill do. The third one that tried to schedule for next Friday said their next availability is in December, so thats when they are scheduling it. Hopefully he can work something out with these first 2 to have them sooner, as if an offer is made they often don’t give much time to respond.

Commencement schedule was posted on D1’s school website. She will graduate on a Saturday night at 6pm. I booked a hotel room for Friday and Saturday to make it a mini vacation. Likely we will have a party at home the next weekend. Four years sure went fast.
