<p>So D found her roommate. Pretty funny. Her family must be wondering what their daughter has gotten into. My D is from NYC and answers to “Satan.” The roommate is from a small town in one of the under-represented states (“If I came from X would it be a hook?”). I’m pretty stoked. Getting acquainted witih someone completely different from herself is one of the things I was hoping for D in college. She is a little hesitant but glad that she sanitized her Facebook during the last week.</p>

<p>Re: Wisdom Teeth - S asked me today if everyone had to have them out - seems a lot of his friends are having it done before they leave. His are coming in and he doesn’t seem to be having any problems.</p>
<p>Ok, because I am totally pathetic, I have been trying to come up with a symbol for BT to use when she volunteers to make our personalized “leaving for college” messages. (I know you still me, BT.) I’ve been playing around with idea of “launching” and using a rocketship for this project.</p>

<p>Cleveland has been great; yankees won 11-4 last night but a-rod didn’t hit his 600th home run. Rock and roll hall of fame was Awesome as was Michael symon’s b burgers restaurant. Stopped at the container store in the way up & we’ll hit Ikea to
tomorrow. Phew!</p>

<p>Well, I thought a little black cloud was following me today. While I was doing my stint of the driving (almost 400 miles) there were a number of thunderstorms. About 20 miles west of Flagstaff and then again in Flagstaff, it got so bad I had to pull to the side of the road and wait for the rain to calm down. And they call this a dessert? LOL! I also noted, from the car thermometer, that the temperature dropped 30 degrees while all this was going on. So we’re in Gallup, NM, staying at the El Rancho, a historic hotel where movie stars rested their heads. We are in the Doris Day room.</p>
<p>S very competently drove himself to his new (adult) dentist for the teeth cleaning (now that the braces are finally off, hooray!) and cavity filling. He’s “home alone” (the dogs are there) for a week, his choice.</p>
<p>Wow, there’s about 6 weeks between the first one leaving and the last one. And yet - does everyone’s semester finish before Christmas? Is everyone on semesters, or are some on tri-mesters?</p>

DD still upset about school but said she will try to be more positive.Just received her room and room mate assignment.Girl is from New Mexico that’s exciting!No grandparents never knew them. Are kids using their banks at home and opening new accounts at school ?</p>
<p>yes, they all ended around 12/10. We have the quater system which class starts 9/27 and the semaster system starts early, perhaps there is a longer Thanksgiving break?</p>
