<p>Beautiful day here in the northeast…lucky Clintons! Enjoy the weekend, one and all.</p>
<p>We’re off to the cabin with our dearest friends and their two kids. We met them soon after we moved to Maine. They were newlyweds as we were. Their younger child is going off to college. We’ve camped and done stuff together since BC (before children). We figure this may be the last time all nine of us are together. Kind of bittersweet! The weather is perfect - low in the 40s, high in the 70s.</p>

<p>Am I terrible? I am not particularly stressed or sad about S going off to college. It isn’t that I can’t wait to be rid of him, maybe it is because we’ve done this before with him? It just feels like business as usual. I know it is larger somehow this time. He’s turning 19 in October and I know he is moving off toward adulthood and further away from us, but so far I am okay with it.</p>

<p>D started emptying her room, and you can’t even tell! What’s scary is that she removed 3 large, overflowing plastic bins! Now all that stuff is in my living room, so that’s a mess. H doesn’t want to store much - help!!!</p>
<p>acm… you’re not crazy… i’m in same boat…been there,done that LOL. it was alot harder when he was 15 to do it.</p>
<p>Mablab54 - My son isn’t very enthusiastic about college either, but I really think he’ll be more excited once he gets there. He was the same way about driving - dragged his feet about getting his license, but once he got it he was delighted. </p>
<p>ML - I’d love to visit Maine sometime! My husband likes to fish but it seems we always go South for vacation. Maybe this summer I can convince him to change.</p>

<p>Like psychmom’s rocket! very clever. Also edited DS’s date, he is leaving me on 8/6 but checks in on 8/7! Dad is driving him down so I can start crying as soon as he leaves Friday :)</p>
<p>Have to say there is a ton of dorm stuff on sale now when we shopped for DS (by we I mean I! ) there were not nearly as many choices.</p>

<p>I think we’ve had a break-through. Last night Son admitted being excited about college. </p>
<p>Also, Son misread his room assignment. The website says BOSTB018. (That’s Bostwick Hall, B Wing, Room 018 [basement].) He read BOST108, which is in A Wing on the 1st floor. </p>

wondering how he ended up in a girls wing. :o

There was a bad accident on the way that shut down the road for 3 hours. I missed the appt. I still plan to go, though. Just have to reschedule.</p>

<p>db… glad your son is getting excited. i think mine is coming around too…you guys know he was not happy…but i noticed he packed two t-shirts from his school for his trip (up until then he wore every other school shirt but his school) and the other day when he called he started asking some questions about gpa requirements, and wanted to know if i had picked up knives and forks LOL</p>
<p>I hope no one minds, but the list was getting long and I had trouble reading it. I reworked it with dates in the front. </p>
