Parents of the HS Class of 2010 and college years beyond (Part 1)

Happy Valentine’s Day ! I just received a dozen huge strawberries dipped in chocolate. Yum ! Our after prom committee makes them each year for Valentine’s Day. Dear H is the best ! :)

Alice - Glad your D is ok. We saw a girl on a bike get hit by a car when we were visiting for Parent’s Weekend. I am still horrified. It is great that your H could go check on her personally.

P56: Also glad you got good news for your H !

Happy Valentine’s Day to this wonderful group!

D and H spent yesterday on the phone trying to arrange follow up visits with various specialists (who began by offering appointments in April!). Today they had appointments with a dentist, and ENT, and a follow up with an orthopedist they saw yesterday afternoon. I guess they were very insistent. I am hoping they all go well. Haven’t heard yet.

Happy Valentines Day to all.

Couldn’t let the day go by without wishing my CC family a Happy Valentine’s Day!
**someone please post again how to do the heart. I tried but as you all know I am the least computer literate person here!

Love hearing about everyone’s study abroad experiences .

Sending healing wishes to Alice’s D and P56’s H.

Try not to eat too much chocolate tonight, but if you have to make sure you chase it with a glass of wine or champagne! Enjoy!!!

Proud, on my desktop, it’s Alt plus 3 on the number pad.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I missed a few days of posts so I will try to catch up today. I did catch the news about P56’s DH and Alice’s D. I wish them well!

checkers, chocolate dipped strawberries! Yum!!!

Happy Valentine’s day. I found a bouquet of tulips without a name when i got to work today. I’ll have to bribe the people who run the security cameras to figure out who sent them

Happy Valentines Day!

No college news. It is gorgeous here today. I hope it stays through the weekend.

Happy Valentine’s Day to All, enjoy your sweets and sweet hearts.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I did something different this year. Inspired by a guy in San Francisco who rode his bike around a heart-shaped path around the city (up hill and down), I went for a heart-shaped walk and sent the Google Pedestrian link to DH.

The weather was so nice for a walk, I thought I’d celebrate the weather AND St. Valentine’s Day. My actual path was somewhat less heart-shaped than planned, due to actual terrain, but it’s the thought that counts, right? :)

Waiting for S to get home from campus. He’s taking the shuttle bus home so he can pick up a car to get himself to the airport tomorrow. Hope all goes well…rush hour traffic to the airport, 2 legs of a flight, absent-minded kid… :D

Bump back to the top

DH is out of town judging grants, so we’ll celebrate tomorrow. But Happy Valentines day to all!

Best to Alice’s D and P56’s DH.

hope everyone had a wonderful day! and who was the secret admirer munequita?

strawberries with chocolate…YUMMMMMM!

I don’t who it was, i know it was not DH, it had to be one of the people who work with me. It was really nice

Coffee is on. Starbuck’s today.

Have not told S2 that SAT scores came out yesterday. I was hoping he would be on top of that…:rolleyes:I think he was all consumed with V-day and his GF. He asked DW to pick up some chocolate covered strawberries, so I received a benefit from that as well. Never realized that was a V - day tradition. She said the store was packed. Fortunately we know the owners and they had put some back for DW.

Morning, IL. I usually dip my own strawberries for the boys but passed this year. Bad mom.

thanks for the coffee IL!!! good morning all!

Morning all. So happy it’s Friday  Thanks for the coffee.

mommusic: that is so sweet. I am not a big romantic, but that commercial makes me say awww every time.

In COLLEGE news, D1 is enjoying her internship much more than she expected, her roommate is great and the classes are wonderful. She sounds much more focused & mature, especially about money, since she’s working 40+ hours, paying her own rent & everything else on her own (we’re giving her a monthly stipend to assist with food, but less than we give her when she’s on campus.) We talked through her fall semester. It’s almost time to register.

As far as D2 goes, we’re doing what will probably be the last campus visit before she makes a decision. President’s Day accepted student days work out well when you’re trying to avoid taking days off. I’m hoping not to be on the SS Indecision too long as we’ve “had the talk” about waitlists. Her two super reach schools accepted 0 waitlist students at 1 and 14 at the other, so she’s said if she’s waitlisted she’ll say thanks but no thanks.

I’m just starting the campus visit discussion with S2 - he’s a HS junior. With him, though, a lot depends on how he does in regionals in wrestling tomorrow, and in the state tournament next week. I’m hoping that maybe, if the Lord is smiling down on us, he’ll get some money from a small school. I doubt seriously he’ll get any attention from D1 schools - he’s good but not a phenom - but lots of smaller schools have wrestling programs. And some Catholic ones, too - I joke about getting his coach a copy of his baptismal certificate.
