Parents of the HS Class of 2011 - Original

OWM - That sounds like a wonderful day and I’m so glad you shared it with us! It’s neat that your son now likes Mizzou so much and will have friends to start his new adventure with him.

So happy to hear about your great experience at Fordham, Scoutsmom! Thanks! She can’t wait to get there.

What a great story–thanks for sharing it with us, as you shared it with them.

nicekidsmom–oh well, let’s enjoy the chocolate dessert buffet on the boat as long as we are on it for the long haul!

loved the campus visit story, so positive

taking a break from the college journey today and tomorrow-we’ll get back to it Monday, lots of other stuff (good and bad)going on around here and I want to enjoy my malted milk chocolate eggs tomorrow before and after Easter supper–oh YUM!

Wonderful, wonderful news emerging again today with so many of your smiling faces walking down the gangplank and reaching for your complimentary cocktails “on us.” I’m so happy for you!

OWM, what a lovely, lovely day.
Thank you for sharing it.

Happy news here as well: sb auditioned for and got the lead in one of her favorite theatre company’s summer production of Oklahoma. She’s had a tough winter/spring, and it did my heart good to see the “glow” back in her this evening.

I’m just thinking tonight about how life brings all of us some really sorrowful times as well as some truly joyful ones. I guess the trick is to grieve fully for the sorrows, and throw back your head and yell, “YES!” when the joyful ones come along. Waxing philosophical, I know…just feeling happy for my sb tonight.

mosb-- Thank You for the philisophical waxing— you don’t know how appropriate your last paragraph was for our family, the joys and the frustrations or sorrows(not related to college at all)…I am hoping for more of those “YES” moments myself!

**Congrats to 325 for U Chicago!

Congrats to VAMom2015 for Princeton!

Congrats to rom828 for Duke!

LeftyLou - welcome aboard and congrats on the no muss - no fuss pick the school and be done with it decision for Fordham! You don’t know how much stress your D saved you (unless you read this thread every day!!!)**

OMG!!! That’s a name I haven’t heard in many years. Brought back quite a few memories of the days in Columbia back in the late 60’s. I haven’t seen the campus since the late 80’s so I am sure that a lot has changed. There was the Shack, the Minute Inn and many other places whose names I don’t recall. Sounds like a great outing for the boys. They will love Mizzou.

OWM- wow what a great day!!!

32578233- You are indeed correct - West U it is!
Lefty Lou - our DD’s good friend is going to Fordham for MT, and is very excited.

Congratulations to songbird for the role in “Oklahoma”! Sure wish I could see one of the performances this summer.

OWM - Thank you so much for sharing that story. I felt like I was there. I’m so jealous of those of you whose children are going to be driving distance away from home.

mosb: Once when I was overcommitted with parenting, work and volunteering, my mother sent me the soundtrack to Oklahoma because she thought “I’m just a girl who can’t say NO” should be my theme song. Love, love, love Oklahoma. “Oh, what a beautiful morning” for you and your daughter.

Good morning all,

OWM~What a wonderful day, thank you for sharing with all of us

Mofsb~Waving at you and your D. Congrats on her getting the rewarding part, she so deserves it :)

Left~Congrats on Fordham…DS friend is going there for his sport

Folks…Wishing to all who celebrate a Blessed Easter.
Enjoy your college-bound children as they will be away next year :(

Good Luck to the SS Indecision passengers, Easter dinner will be served at 3pm in the East Ballroom

I regret that I have to say this but…

WE ARE OFF THE BOAT!!! (as much as I enjoyed the company, I will not miss it!)

D has decided to attend Boston University!!!

Will post more later, once I am done doing the happy dance!

(I do want to thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping keep me sane on this incredible voyage…I just wish I was more computer savy so I could have posted this in color with smilies etc…)

Have a great day everyone, it is so nice to see my daughter smiling and happy! For all still on the boat…don’t give up, I will wait for you on shore with drinks and food!

**Holiday message today and a reminder that there are just 7 days until we reach our final port.

As noted, there is a special afternoon dinner service at 3 PM today. We do expect a couple of surprise disembarkations today so stay tuned for announcements during the day.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate. :)

The farewell midnight buffet on this cruise will be served Saturday night, April 30th. If you are still on board, please come to the Pool Deck at 11 PM for the chef’s famous farewell buffet including the four-level chocolate fountain. For those of you who will be undecided about what to eat, the Activities Staff will have a couple of coin-flipping stations setup to help you with last minute decisions.** :D

bkcsmn99 ~ Congrats on BU! Enjoy your happy dance, lol!

bkcs–CONGRATS on BU…my d has some very happy friends there!

OWM: Thanks for sharing your story. My H and S visited Mizzou in '08. While they were there, they also stopped by Stephens College, where my MIL attended. They picked up some souvenirs for her. Just yesterday, my D said one of her classmates at her small high school will be attending Stephens next year. Our son liked Mizzou, but ended up at U Maryland for Journalism.

bkcs: Congratulations on Boston University!

MOSB: Big congrats to your daughter for her role in Oklahoma!

And more congrats to all of those who disembarked the SS Indecision yesterday. Has your head stopped spinning yet?
