I’ll stop opening her mail when my c-section scar is no longer visable.

(she doesn’t mind anyways)

Ideally parents would wait and let their kids open their own college mail. But my opinion is that it would be best not to make this a big battle.

These are the parents that may be paying big bucks for college next year, possibly making great sacrifices to do so. Give them some slack on the mail issue. In a few months there will be some serious discussions about college choices, and that will go more smoothly if you are on good terms.

GA2012: So funny, true and original! Love it! College admissions were so important, and son so avoided it, I set up at very business like email- totally separate, with his name (not “Beans up nose” or some such handle) It was “our” email right up until March came along and then I let him sign on for results- than back to me after Deposit sent, it was my email \ to tract deadlines and send money- right up until D-Day.

Did same thing with bank account- his name our account for all school transactions. Put those handy alerts for low balance or funds deposited- worked great for 2 years but must be time to take the training wheels off…he has started to object- even though he has a separate account for his job money and all other personal money. OKEY DOKEY, enjoy those 39.00 over drafts sonny!
