Hey guys! I applied ED to Brown with English as my first choice. Here are my stats:
-1st in class
-2390 SAT
-750 on both subject tests
-Essays: I spent a lot of time on them. My common app essay I feel like really captures me and it's pretty unique.
-Recs: Guidance counselor rec. is probably solid, one rec is amazing, one is good but not like BOOM
-ECs: I have a lot of writing-related EC's. I've won national writing awards, been published in literary magazines, and am head of the school newspaper. I have also been nationally recognized for music. I went to China one summer to teach English. I interned at a bank one summer. I have about 5 leadership positions in EC's.
-APs taken (junior year): chem, econ macro, micro, lang, apush, calc
What do you guys think? THanks in advance!

If you haven’t already done so, posting this in the Brown thread will probably get you more answers. However, I do know that with Brown especially, they reject far more applicants then they admit, just by the sheer numbers of applicants. No matter how good your stats are. My S1 did not even apply to Brown three years ago knowing this. You could be super qualified but rejected based solely on numbers. He didn’t even want to take that chance and applied elsewhere.

Just noticed you applied ED…obviously better chances, but still way too many applicants for a finite number of spots. Good luck-

Your chances are as good as any other highly qualified applicant to Brown. The school accepts 15% of those who apply. Of the 85% who are not accepted, many, if not most, are well qualified applicants.

Your stats are good…now…it’s just a wait and see.
