Am I the only one that has trouble studying...or whose parents tells to go to sleep and stop reading? >_<

haha, my parents have no idea how little sleep I get. If they did, they'd be furious.

mine are the same as mollys. they'll yell at me for not studying and have no idea I was up till 2:00 working.

true that, vegan.

it's so frustrating!

what I love:
"make better grades!"
"Study more!"

two seconds later....
"why do you have circles under your eyes?"

are you stupid or something?! I hate my parents.

haha i know, my parents are like study hard and have straight A's and go to sleep early. well, how in the world can you do that if you're not up past midnight?

and then they're angry if you're tired and don't want to wake up earlier.
"you should go to bed sooner if you're going to always be tired!"

"did you study for your tests yet?"

how do we do both??

Ahhhhh crazy insane parents.

Oh well, we'll all probably end up like 'em anyways.

The solution is to not have kids.

my mom always says "study hard, sleep early" impossible!

My parents (at least my dad) think that high school is so easy, like they would give anything to be in my situation. Then I try to explain to them that all I do is homework, right from when I get home to the time I go to sleep and that I study my azz off to get good grades to get into a good college.

They don't understand.

for real. my parents come home from work (not a whole lot later than I get home from whatever EC I had that day/work) and ask me to do chores, etc. My mom's always saying I do nothing.
um.
At least when you get home from work, you're done for the day!

and, by the way, I am the only one in my family who vacuums or cooks.

They weren't in the era of super-acheivers.

exactly. I took courses in freshman year that my dad took in college. The stuff I'm taking now is more advanced than he has even attempted.
Sorry, but it's true. Not that he isn't smart...he just never had to work this hard in school!

Yea, my dad basically took electives and got C's in all his classes. Now he is an auto-mechanic. I tell him, "Sorry dad, but I don't want to be a mechanic my entire life".

He wants me to get into a good college, yet at the same time he says I'm too far in over my head and that I should take easier classes. I'm only taking 2 AP's this year.

my parents are always pushing me to do more and do better. my mom says she wishes someone had pushed her, blah blah. but you're KILLING ME.

hahahaha. you guys are funny.

my mom wants me to study, "but only to a certain point! and then go to sleep!"

the next morning: "DID YOU SLEEP WHEN I TOLD YOU TO???? WHY DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SO TIRED????"

i think what they want is study in a concentrated span of time, and no internet/phone/tv/distractions to dilute the studying time so that we'll have time to sleep.

psh, if i didn't have my distractions (what do you think i'm doing now, mom) i wouldn't get any work done.

If I did it all straight through without distractions, I'd lose my mind.

I would die.

DIE!

i'm with you, molly.

i think my distractions are sometimes longer than the actual study periods though....

_>

of course, my mom doesn't know that.
