Nothing for my daughter yet. Still the same old “no determination” message on her portal. Sigh. At this point she has asked me to stop asking her to check her portal . . . Pretty sure I’m making her crazy.

My daughter is still waiting for graphic communications. She applied ED but was deferred to RD. We are in the Bay Area, we know 1 student admitted ED and 3 others admitted RD last week when the initial flood of acceptances went out. But several others are still waiting. She’s discouraged…

@julymom, the wait has been miserable! Of the students you mentioned above, were they all from your daughter’s school? My daughter only knows of one girl that got in from her high school. I can’t imagine knowing 4 others and still waiting!

Yes all were from the same school. I know several others are still waiting. It’s been agonizing.

Just saw that an applicant was waitlisted for Nutrition, which is College of Ag. I’m getting super nervous!

@navy71 - Any news on your daughter? I saw a student waitlisted just now for Kinesiology…

I just saw a parent post in the other thread that their child was wait listed for Kinesiology. I’m not feeling hopeful at this point - her app status is still no determination. I wonder how long it takes them to start sending out rejections after they notify those waitlisted?

My D was accepted early decision for Graphic Communications back in December.Shortly have we found out she was accepted,we realized there was a error on her self reported grades. My stomach was sick for nearly 2 months waiting to see if her acceptance would be revoked. We finally found out 2 weeks ago after her application was reviewed and her grades recalculated that her admittance stands as accepted. I truly feel all of you pain, waiting and wondering what will happen. Keep faith and hope.

@CDSMOM @joyful1 @navy1 I was initially put off by the minicooper’s comment only because what I saw posted by nearly all of you and others on this thread sounded like everyone was genuinely trying to see how your child’s stats fit in to a very complex, uncertain and, overwhelming admissions process. It really did not sound to me that anyone was, in any manner, trying to “show off” their student. In fact, I felt the opposite and that everyone was putting forth the stats so we could see the crazy level of high achievement needed to get into CP for Fall 2014. By no means did I think anyone was bragging. So, when I then chimed in with my D’s acceptance at SDSU as Honors literally at the same time, I did kind of wince. Cuz that was not MY intention either! The CLASS of 2018 thread has been very helpful and I’ve really enjoyed all of your input/supportive comments on both threads. It’s like “real life” applicants; not what you see on the college lists via College Board where you see the averages for all applicants (the bar and pie graphs, etc!) At any rate, this is a great spot to continue to see what’s going on with everyone and keep helpful updates re: status, acceptances, WL etc!
We are in same boat with the acceptance to a local 4 year state school (ours being SDSU)…it’s somewhat close by (we are 35 min. north) and my D would really like to go away (yet stay in-state) and CP is one of her top choices.
Regarding other acceptances locally: She knows at least 4 other kids in her HS that have gotten acceptances; one was ED. She wishes she had done ED now! At least 2 more still waiting!!
@joyful1 Your last post was spot on!!! From beginning to end! =D>

I wonder why nothing is happening for engineering majors yet? Meanwhile accepted students are putting down housing deposits. Doesn’t seem very equitable.

Housing applications for RD accepted students won’t be available until March 7. By then, I would expect all accepted students will have been notified. CP always releases acceptances first, followed by waitlists, and finally rejections. At least that is the way it seems to have been every year since 2007.

Any news Parents? My D is still undetermined. Started to see a denial coming, but trying to keep her feeling positive!

No news on the Software Engineering front for my son. Since he got into his 2nd choice, SDSU, I would really like him to attend the Open House in March and take another look at the school. He is still reluctant to give up on SLO. I will give it another week or until SDSU comes out their housing application before I start the not so subtle hints again.

As a parent still on the “other thread” I wasn’t offended at all by what minicooper wrote. In fact, I respect what he/she had to say. Minicooper never asked anyone to leave the thread but rather to refrain from posting comments other than stats/acceptances. Good luck to everyone still waiting:)

Yes, still waiting also. It’s probably going to be a quiet weekend. Any parents also waiting for UC’s?

Yes…unless you have heard from UCR or are a top student hearing about a scholarship at one of the UC’s, I don’t think any notifications are out yet. March will be a long month.

Still waiting for a decision one way or the other for my son who applied ED for Aerospace Engineering, then was referred to RD. I can’t wait until March 15th when we’ll also know from the 3 UCs that he applied to! Good luck, everyone!

Gumbymom here. Yes my S is still waiting for UC’s, mainly UCSB. Already accepted at UCR with Chancellors scholarship but won’t consider now that is has SDSU under his belt. Any UC acceptances are moot, if SLO comes through. Good Luck to all students and parents.

Hi parents! New member here! All your posts from the Decisions 2018 thread were so helpful until the parents were “kicked” out. I followed you to this thread! Thank you CDSMOM for setting it up. I was wondering if I could get some opinions or thoughts on a college issue…my son was accepted to SDSU for business and SLO also for business. He has it in his head that SDSU has a better business school though most of the rankings I’ve seen has SLO listed and he is leaning towards SDSU. What do you think parents?

oops…need to edit and re do
