I live in PA, where common law marriage was recognized until 2003 (or 2004, I don't remember). My parents were briefly married, but are no longer, yet they still live together and always have. It's confusing. Anyway, should I put down single on the FAFSA and just report one parent's income? I tried searching, so sorry if this exists, but I really need to finish it ASAP and couldn't find something like my situation.

If your parents are not recognized legally as married (common law or otherwise), you are not obligated to put both parents on your FAFSA. You would use one parent & put "single." Since they live together, though, you ARE obligated to use the parent with the higher income - since that is obviously the parent who contributes more to your welfare.
