We will be driving in Friday afternoon (another 16 hr ride) with Dear Wife and S meeting D at the school. WE are staying way out in Hoover.(Long ride after the game) but really looking forward to it. I hope we are all in the same section for the game . Look forward to meeting all that are going. Wife know all we are doing I just follow around and stay out of trouble.

We will be on campus sometime Saturday morning. Staying in Bessemer after the game, but in Tuscaloosa on Sunday night. I’ve made so many hotel reservations lately for work and UA, I’m not sure where we will be on Sunday. Guess I better start searching emails :)

Love it, catfan. One thing I love about being a Marriott Rewards member. Just look up the account and can see all my upcoming reservations.

We’ll be at Fairfield Tuscaloosa. Plan to go to Beach Blast, President’s Mansion, Pregame Lunch, Game, St. Francis, and the Jazz Brunch. May stay over Monday. Definitely staying Sunday night, though.

Is Parents Weekend always this early, or is it just early this year because of the game schedule?

*Wife knows all we are doing I just follow around and stay out of trouble. *

What a wise husband… :)

This is a VERY early Parents Weekend. It’s because of the schedule. Usually it’s in late Sept or sometime in Oct.

Family weekend is early this year due to the game schedule and since it’s during Labor Day weekend, many families will will be able to stay Sunday night and not have to miss school/work.

My family will arrive on Thursday and will be staying in Tuscaloosa on Thursday/Sunday and in Vance on Friday/Saturday. We’ll be attending the President’s Mansion, Beach Bash (will swimming be allowed?), Pregame Lunch, Game, and Jazz Brunch.

Husband and I coming down on Friday. Staying at the Wynfrey in Birmingham Friday and Saturday night. We will be spending as much time as possible with DS! We did not get the parent package. Are there any events we can attend?

Question…

I know that we bought two packages (for Beach Bash and Pre-game lunch) and we bought 2 student lunches for pre-game lunch.

However, do students go to the Beach Bash? It says package holders only, and I don’t see how you’d buy tickets for students? Or is that for parents only?

***We did not get the parent package. Are there any events we can attend? ***

Oh yes…the parent package is only for Beach Bash and Pre-game lunch.

All the other events don’t require parent package…

Click on the schedule link in the first post…

Looks like some great open houses going on Friday afternoon. Also St. Francis breakfast is open to all on Sunday. Have fun!

The parent package also covers Sunday’s Jazz Brunch. UA Students can attend the Beach Bash and Jazz Brunch for free, but the pre-game lunch costs $10 per student.

^^^

ahhh…thanks!!

I didn’t realize that the parent package also covers the jazz brunch… I missed that.

Glad to see kids can go to the beach bash.

I’m sure the pool will be open, right?

I hope that the pool will be open. :)

We will arrive Friday afternoon and are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. I’m not sure which events we will attend, but we will definitely be at the game in Section NN-7. We are driving home Monday.

We didn’t go into the outdoor pool when we toured just rolled by on the bus, is the area really that large that it can host an event like you are mentioning? We could see the lazy river, so I guess it must be pretty large if it has that.

DH, D2 and I will be arriving Saturday morning. We’re attending the pre-game lunch & the game. The current plan is that D2 will crash in D1s dorm while DH & I drive to Birmingham (note to self: hotel rooms sell out really quickly within a 40 mile radius of T-Town on game days!) Not sure where we’re staying yet; that’s on the list to do today.

We’ll be back in T-Town on Sunday probably doing the Jazz brunch (also didn’t know that was included; thanks!) I think D has some errands she’d like to run while we are down there. Heading back home late Sunday morning. Alas, I have to work on Monday since Vanderbilt has full classes on Labor Day Monday :(

I too am looking forward to checking out the pool. I’ve only driven by it from the bus, and the one time I toured the rec center, it was dark already, and I could not see the outside area.

Hey folks hope you have a great time at parents weekend!!

I learned an interesting fact on my DSs recent college visit. Apparently any parent can use the rec center when they are visiting! I was surprised and then pictured me trying to get my DH to leave the rec… just a FYI for those of you heading to T-town!! Enjoy!

Nice to know! Thanks!
