Parent's weekend suggestions?

My folks are driving up from OOS for parent's weekend and they are so happy and so am I! They are going to go on the candle-lit tour of the Lawn, and want to view the night sky from the Observatory, and will listen to the Ghost Stories of the South!! Cool.
Any dinner reservation advice? They are staying at the Holiday Inn on Emmit St.--Seems like the Corner might be prohibitive, maybe Downtown??
Shame the drought has taken such a toll on the Lawn, but the Fall leaves sure look beautiful!

Whenever my parents are in town for something other than a football game, we try to go to the Boar's Head Inn. Check it out:

<a href="http://www.boarsheadinn.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.boarsheadinn.com/</a></p>

It has several restaurants, including the Old Mill Room, which is a AAA four-diamond restaurant.

edit: definitely take them out somewhere on the corner, too. My parents seem to like seeing that aspect of student life, too. What's your favorite restaurant on the corner? Take them there. My favorites are Mellow Mushroom and the Virginian.

One of my favorite's is the Virginian too! Though my Dad likes Michael's Bistro for it's fine Belgian beer. He says it is one of a kind.--- Thanks for the Boarshead Inn link. We'll definitely try to stay there for future events.--Maybe next year.

Mellow Mushroom probably has the best pizza ever

You don't necessarily need to stay there, it's just a nice place to eat. I think it's nice to take my parents out somewhere relatively nice AND somewhere that shows off student life.

Agreed. My mom's coming and I plan on doing something on the Corner one night (probably Friday, especially since my dad/brother might come if the bro's football schedule allows it) and something nicer Saturday night because I need some quality food. I suggest College Inn, Virginian, or Mellow as well. There's a Thai/Vietnamis place on 14th across from Archs that's quite good as well.

if you like steak, there's the Aberdeen Barn, i think it's called? on that little street off Emmet, next to Quality Inn/Days Inn. and a newish place off Emmet, Wild Greens. very good food, pleasant atmosphere. yes, the Thai place is also good. have fun!
