GREAT! it was terrific seeing our s, who is having a great time so far at fsu. he seems to really feel at home.

We went to the circus performance Friday night which was great to see. it really is amazing how the students involved in that club do so much. the acrobatic performances were really well put together and the parents of those involved should be very proud of their childrens efforts.

we had two nice meals in downtown tally. went to a new "tapas" style restaurant called 101.

The highlight (other than seeing our s of course) was the football game. I had never been to a big time college football game and thought it was so much fun. our s took us into the student section where we cheered (and stood on the bench) the entire time. I think being in the student section gave me a wonderful lens into what makes the FSU games so special.

Winning helped make the experience that much better.

Hope all the parents who were there had as much fun as i did.

Go Noles!

We were in town as well - especially for the football game (Go 'Noles!). We met with our daughters and had a great time at a Sunday parent's breakfast and then took them to lunch at the Pitaria.

We were able to tailgate in the nice sunny, mild weather before the game. After the game we headed off to the coast to stay in a cottage we'd rented with family members for the weekend.

Great report from both of you! I'm envious. ;)

So glad to hear that Parent's Weekend was enjoyed by all!

Yes, it was GREAT. We should have tried to meet up. So much to do, so little time.

We went to the Circus performance also, and my younger HS daughter who has done gymnastics and was a flyer for cheerleading was VERY INTRIGUED. I think it would be more nerve racking watching one of your up there!!! We then had a very nice dinner with parents/family and daughters of D's sorority. It was a nice catered buffet at a ballroom at the Civic Center. The game was just great Sat. D had a guest ticket in the student section for a friend who rode up with us, and younger D and 2 friends and I sat in the regular section and it was no less fun. We have home tickets and the crowd is into it and standing almost no matter where you sit. We all went out to dinner after the game and lots of giggles and good times. Younger D and friends then went to the 10pm showing of Dark Knight at the IMAX theater a few blocks from FSU.

It was hard to leave Sun after lunch. I wish the ride were shorter. Can't wait for homecoming!

We got home about 8:30PM Sunday...a little later than we like. We have to work, so it's harder coming home late (and then seeing the Rays lose :().

Fun great time had by this family! H and I visited S with his younger brother a jr in HS. We traveled from OOS by air. Arrived got S a haircut (went to a place randazzles downtown near the imax theatre - give it a thumbs up) . After that we went straight to the student circus early show at 530. Kudos to the students involved. It was uplifting (no pun intentended) such a show of teamwork cooperation school spirit...

Saturday was my first D1 college football game. I was amazed, delighted and moved! Tailgating whoa what a social scene. it was all so welcoming it makes you feel like a part of something bigger. the stadium was super charged. the marching chiefs set the tone and then the players come out and the chief and his horse the cheerleaders , baton twirlers.....wowee

Before kickoff when the chinook helicopters flew over as a salute to troops and we were in the student section and the students erupted in a USA - USA chant .it was so patriotic and emotional!
Went to a great dinner with S's roommate and his parents! S did not know his roommate going in and believe it or not the roommate's mom and I met via this cc board. we introduced the boys via email. they are choose to room together and things are great.,they are compatible and seem to be good friends!!

We had so much fun. Can see why our son loves FSU so much!
