How many parents actually go for Parents Weekend? Do you take part in the scheduled activities? How hard is it to get football tickets if you wait til August for the single game tix to go on sale? Thanks for any info!!

A lot of parents attend Family Weekend and participate in the scheduled activities. Many also choose to schedule their own activities.

The Family Weekend football game is not against one of the strongest opponents UA will face this season, so tickets will be easy to find. It’s often possible to get tickets in better sections than those reserved for Family Weekend participants or single game ticket sales by buying tickets from season ticket holders. Prices vary, but it’s not uncommon to get tickets for these games at face value or lower. Ticket prices typically go lower as time goes on.

Keep in mind that if your student is pledging a fraternity or sorority, it will be difficult to see them for much of that weekend as they have a lot of required activities.

If you want to sit next to your student, you will have to buy them a ticket as the student section where they’d typically sit is blocked off from most other areas of the stadium.

Thank you!!!

We didn’t go for parents weekend as it was so close to move-in time. We ended up going for Fall break and taking a “mini vacation” with him to Atlanta. For his freshman year, this was the beginning of October (its late October next year) and I know that, although he loved the University, it was a nice change of pace for him to leave the campus and to have family time with us.
