Parent's Weekend

Just a heads up to the parents…some advice that my dad reminded me to pass along.

If your son/daughter has been accepted, it would be good to start making reservations right NOW…hotels fill up like no other for parent’s weekend.

Ya my dad already bought tickets and reserved hotel.

The earlier the better.

agreed. just remember that this year there IS a game on Saturday, but after that its good to get away from the C-springs area

Bummer about the game, that kinda stinks for everyone.

Although I imagine you'll be able to leave and come back, or at least I hope so.

Where is the best place to stay?

The Academy Hotel and Drury are right outside the gate. Then the Embassy Suites, hampton (I think) and a couple others are 5 min down the road. Can't really go wrong.

that would be good for the first night for your rents. from my understanding, u may leave friday afternoon, but must return by TAPS (2300 ususally). then after the game u are free until sunday night.

the games are actually really neat for your parents to see, especially march on.

My parents loved going to the Navy game, so they should enjoy it! It's a different experience with the fly-overs, wings of blue coming in, and the march-on.

Just a reminder. If you dont already have football tickets for parents' weekend through a group they are on sale today online. http://goairforcefalcons.cstv.com/tickets/afa-tickets.html
I believe cadets are required to sit in sections L-20 to L18.

For those of you that have gone to parents weekend before, do you recommend getting reservations for dinner? Will it be that crowded?

It will be crowded everywhere that weekend. We always try to eat at odd times and as far away from the academy as possible.

PW for us last year....no football so we spent Saturday in Littleton, Denver area, shopping for "stuff".

Don't remember too many crowds at restaurants above what we were not expecting. If you are going to go to Biaggi's or Saltgrass or Outback, some of those places you may need to call ahead or get reservations.
