Parking/housing Question

I had a quick question, I just send them my housing application but I haven't send my registration enrollment thing. Will they still process my application right away or will they wait untill i commit.

One more thing, I haven't heard anything about parking at USC, is it tough for someone living on campus, and how are teh prices. THANX

CAN ANYONE ANSWER MY 2 QUESTIONS

No, they'll process your application. Just that if you decide to go elsewhere, you lose your $25 or whatever deposit.

Parking is pretty difficult. Since I don't have a car here I can't tell you exactly how much a permit is, but it's at least a couple hundred dollars. For that, you'll probably end up parking at the Parking Center, which is about 5 blocks on the other side of the 110. They have tram service, but it's still a pain having to park there.

Are you from the L.A. area or a similar sized metro area (SF, NY,etc.)? Because I can also tell you that the LA traffic may drive you nuts. People do some crazy stuff here, and freeways become parking lots frequently during the day. If you don't want to deal with that, I recommend you not bring a car.

I know this isn't an immediate answer, but I really really suggest you buy the Book "College Prowlre: University of Southern California, Off The Record." http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1596581832/sr=8-1/qid=1144892836/ref=sr_1_1/102-2121556-9859333?%5Fencoding=UTF8
here is the amazon link, its on sale for 10 bucks right now and that book is amazing. I got one for UCLA and USC and that is how I chose between them (id seen em both and was stumped)

As far as the parking situation goes, I can tell you a little about what I read in this book: They have the "Resident Parking (off campus): $148.50 per semester; Gold Parking Permits (on campus structures):$360 per year.

"If you want to bring a car, apply for a spot ASAP..."

"Parking can be difficult. I chose not to go with university parking. I parked my car at the Shrine Auditorium; its located directly across from campus, and it's cheaper."
-"If you are going to bring a car, which is a good idea, then you should get a parking permit. I parked my car in the parking center my freshman year, which was okay, but I had to take a tram to my car any time I wanted to use it."

wow that was a mouthfull! hope it helped!

P.S. this is the best book ever, its like straight from the students and not looked at by the school, so its like honest opinions, and it covers on and off campus dining and housing, facilities, diversity, athletics, nightlife, Greek life, parking, transportation, weather, overall experience and looots more

So you can park it at the auditorium across the street for cheaper, anyone knows if this is true.

Oh and I live in LA so I know the traffic situation. I really do need a car, cuz i'm gonna be working off campus, plus when I go home as well.
