I understand student parking is crappy, but I decided to bring my car down freshman year just in case I need to go shopping or get home in an emergency.

According to the U of I parking site, the following lots are designated as "continuous lots for student permits": B21, D09, D22, E15, F04, F08, F12, F14, F15, F24, & F27

Where exactly are these located? I found the U of I campus parking map online, but it's extremely convoluted and hard to read. I'm trying to find the closest lot to the 6 pack (Ike north).

Having a car is actually really nice sometimes. I didn’t use mine all that often, but it was great to have when I needed it.

If you look at this map, http://www.parking.illinois.edu/campus_map/parkingmap.pdf , you are in one of the halls above the ARC and memorial stadium (5F). Out of the lots you listed, it looks like E-15 and E-14 are the closest. I parked in E-14. It wasn’t very convenient for me because I lived in Bromley, which was about a mile away, but your hall is very close to both. You won’t use your car all the time, so just pick the lot that is the cheapest.

Yes, it does. It’s $540 for a nine-month permit.

I looked it up, so here are the lots students can park in 24/7 (copied from website - more info here, [Facilities & Services Parking Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign](http://www.parking.illinois.edu) ):

E14 (at First and Kirby, west of the Assembly Hall)
F23 (at Florida and Lincoln)
B22 (southeast corner of University and Goodwin)
North Deck B04 (southwest corner of University and Goodwin).

Stupid U of I parking website. I was trying to buy the parking pass last night but I kept getting the same stupid error message whenever I check out.

Now when I call the credit card company this morning, I have over $2000 in charges from all the failed attempts at buying the permit!

EDIT: Just called Visa and they aren’t willing to do anything until they can contact the Parking Department tomorrow morning. ***?! Why do I have the worst luck with everything at U of I. They probably charged my student account multiple times to.

It’s really weird how their website is set up. Even though they list a bunch of different lots when you go to buy your permit, there are only six available for overnight parking. Those lots are B4, B22, E14, E27, F23, and F29.

Apparantly there is a campus rule where all parking lots “on campus” are closed at night and all cars are ticketed. Those six lots are considered “off campus” (enough) for overnight parking.
