How difficult is this in the mornings, assuming you’ve got a regular permit?

I have a C permit (I’m guessing that’s what you mean by “regular”).

Parking before 8:00 AM is easy all over campus - there should be plenty of spaces. After 8:00 parking spaces can get harder to find, especially in the North Entry Parking Structure (which seems to be the most popular, and crowded, parking structure on campus). In my experience the West Entry Parking Structure (near the ARC, next to the fire station) is less crowded, probably because it’s significantly larger and further from the center of campus.

There are also at least a dozen parking lots which accept C permits, but I’ve never bothered trying to park in them in the morning (I just assume they’re filled up). I’ve noticed that there are some lots around the medical school, which many undergrads probably don’t know about because they’re so far from the center of campus. It might be worthwhile to check those out if everything else is full.

Here’s a link to the TAPS parking map, for anyone who doesn’t have one.

Finding parking in the morning is pretty easy. Just remember to park in C-permit designated spots. You don’t want to come back to your car with a $40 ticket because you accidentally parked in the wrong zone…

Don’t expect to find a parking spot easily if you arrive around noon. You may want to give yourself half an hour to be able to circle around the garage just in case. I usually find a spot within a few minutes, but you definitely want that extra time to get from the garage to the lecture hall.
