Okay, so I am a freshman living in Lake Claire this year, please help me out.

I have a few questions about parking, specifically pertained to those who know about Lake Claire parking decals.

If I have a Lake Claire-specific parking decal, does that mean I cannot park in other areas, for example the parking garages? I heard also that parking in parking garages is not allowed overnight? Is that true?

My reason for asking is because this morning I got a parking citation. I was parking against a No Parking curb, HOWEVER, it was 3 AM (I was studying at a friend's place) and I drove around the entire lot for around 20 minutes and there was absolutely no spaces.
I also really didn't think I should have parked in a garage, because of the far distance from my dorm because I was thinking of safety of walking at 3AM as a factor. That and hearing that we were not supposed to park there overnight.

So what could I have done in that situation? Where could I have parked?

Is there no way around this ticket, or do I have something?

No one knows? Any ideas at all??

Carrie,

I live off-campus and usually take a shuttle to and from campus. If you have a Decal that’s from Lake Claire, I believe you can only use it in Lake Claire. I could be wrong. I believe your Decal says: LC and then some number and letter combination. Now, I assume you can purchase the one that says “D” and some number and letter combination, that’s for students. It usually will tell you on the sign near the lot, if you can park there or not. If I’m not mistaken, I believe it’s color-coded. Please refer to this map (http://www.parking.ucf.edu/pdfs/CampusMap_Brochure%202010.pdf) for more details, as it appears it answers your question somewhat. If you have “D” Decal, you can park wherever “D” is. Since you have a Decal for Lake Claire, I believe you are somewhat limited I am truly sorry that I don’t have the correct answer to solve your problem, but do recommend calling (407) 823-5812. They should have a more, correct answer than myself. into where you can and can’t park. Take Care.

If you have a LC decal, you can park in ANY “green” lot on campus, as well as in Lake Claire.
