parking situation

I am transferring to LA since this fall and having a problem. I did not know about the parking permit deadline, and I missed it. I have to commute from Redondo Beach to UCLA and I know there are expensive parking lots available outside the campus but I don't think I can afford paying 3-5 bucks per hour. Is there a place around UCLA (within the diameter of 3 miles perhaps) where I can street park?

If I recall correctly, south of wilshire has parking spots that are all day (someone correct me if I am wrong!).

Honestly 3 miles is a long way. You could probably find some parking in Sawtelle at that distance.

Most of the streets around the apartments south of Wilshire have all day parking I think. Just watch the signs very carefully.

There are some private lots in Westwood, but I haven’t really paid attention to how much they cost. I’d imagine pretty close to what UCLA charges ($9).

It’s 10 bucks now VTE! :'(!!!

You can try applying for a permit via appeal. I’m appealing, for a different reason.

I think there’s a private lot in westwood where you can pay monthly. My friend brought a car last year and left it there most of the time.

your best bet is to find someone living in apartments renting out their parking space…it’s a little less convenient than on campus parking, but still close and usually much cheaper.
