Parking

So as a freshman I parked in southside garage and lived on campus at Appelt. I'm living off campus next year but just went ahead and re-registered for my southside parking garage spot. Then one of my buddies told me that southside garage is only for residents. Is this true can I keep my southside garage parking or do I need to move to like a parking lot or west campus garage? West campus garage is probably as far away from the engineering side of campus as possible, any recommendations?

What does “residential priority” mean?

Parking requests for Lot 30, Lot 40, Northside Garage, Southside Garage, and West Campus Garage from students who are registered to live in an on-campus dorm are processed and fulfilled before requests from students who are not registered to live on-campus.

though in your case, i’m not quite sure what you’ll get

I changed my number 1 spot to Lot 50, and if I don’t get that I guess I’ll take SS garage and then if not that I believe I’ll be in west campus garage.

There will b a waiting list for lot 50. My daughter hopes to get that lot this fall.

she submitted her request for lot 50 this time last year - is still on waiting list number 650… So don’t expect lot 50. North gate parking garage waiting list is even longer, but she just put herself on for that waiting list.

lolol how do you tell what number you are on the waiting list?

I’m probably 5,493

If you have the motorcycle permit, what lots can you use?

TXAggie92 you can sign into [url=<a href=“Page Not Found”>http://transport.tamu.edu/]Transportation Services at Texas A&M University/url and on the next page it will tell you your ranks for 2010-2011, but i think they don’t update it for next year’s until registration closes

jrt336 i believe the motocycle permit allows you to park at any motocycle specific lot, most f which are next to academic buildings, but you can look through the website above to try to find anything i missed
