Are freshmen allowed to have a car on campus?

Nope...but I believe you can after your first year

if there is one drawback its that..i really want ot take my car up there....
why aren't freshmen allowed?

There really isn't that much parking available on campus, and the public transportation is generally sufficient to get you where you need/want to be. Apart from those two issues, I'm not sure why first-years, specifically, aren't allowed to have cars, but I think they're acceptable reasons.

Boo..My parents will see this as another excuse not to get me a car this year -o-

A lot of colleges don't let first year students have cars on campus. Any friend I have who had a car on campus as a first year has either A) gone to a school that's so small and secluded there's enough parking for everyone, or B) went to a large state school where there's tons of lots and garages. But as attached as I am to my Toyota, I'd like to get a feel for the area before I drive around there. Personally, the only thing I dread is figuring out how to navigate the train stations/airports/etc when I'll be coming home to NJ on breaks. I'd much rather just hop on I-95 and head south for a few hours.
