yo guys a few questions:
im planning on driving to and from school everyday. so i wanna know, is there spaces to park outside like every building? or near every building? also, how much is it gonna cost me for a parking permit? (or do i even need one? lol)

Standard Commuter parking permits are $450/year. Where you get to park depends on whether you luck into a Student Commuter permit or end up with a Zone permit (same price). In either case, you won’t be parking outside every building… more like you park when you arrive on campus and walk from class to class. There are also Commuter Preferred permits for $612/year, sold on a first-come, first-served basis. But even the Preferred permit lets you park in the reserved stalls in only one lot.

aiite ty mamoose. and daaaaaam thats freakin expensive lmao…$450/yr.

Yeah, when I bought my guy a parking permit for the dorm, it cost about as much as the car was worth. They say they need those high fees to pay for construction of parking garages.

rofl…does the $450 mean you’re definitely gonna get a spot or do they sell more permits than they have spaces? XD

Others who have commuter should weigh in on this, but my impression is that they don’t oversell the lots… but at prime times, you have to park at the less desirable ones.

This is in contrast to Stanford, where students refer to their parking permits as “hunting licenses.”
