With tomorrow being 3/1, I know everyone (including my daughter) is anxiously waiting for the notification. However, I got to thinking..the web site says finalists are notified by 3/1, does that mean that non finalists are not notified? Has anyone recieved notice yet, either way?
Good luck to all..I hope good news is on the way!

I was wondering the same thing- and my S still has not gotten an acceptance letter- (Just a little worried )
Anyway -good luck today for your daughter

Thanks lpart, good luck to your son as well. Keeping our fingers crossed.

I just sent a email asking them if everyone gets the letter or only the finalists. I will post the response when I get one.

Response:
Thank you for your interest in the Park Scholar Program in the Roy H.
Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. All students are being
notified via mail, and letters were sent out today.

Hi I am new to the site. I too applied for a Parks Scholarship. I have been accepted to the school of cinema and photog. I got my acceptance in late January. But I did not get notification of any merit scholarship like a deans or pres, whici is extremly dissappointing, and now I fear that if I did not get that I dont have a chance for a Park Scholarship. I think finalists would have heard by now. I think that when they said letters went out today, it must mean rejection letters. Does anyone have any any insight on any of this? I live overseas, and I was hoping my overseas exp. and cross cultural exp.would look good to the Park Committee. I am feeling a bit disheartened now. I felt good about my application. i have a great deal of community involvment and extra curriculars and writing and drama awards. My GPA is only a 3.8 and my boards are 1330 (old scoring)--does anyone know how these stats fare? Thanks, good luck to all and would love to hear any insights.

thanks for sharing this reply. I still feel disheartened. It is my experience that when you are a finalist for something you get a phone call. I hope I am wrong and that the letters bear good news. Does anyone have any more input or info--has nayone gotten word that they are a finalist yet? Thanks.

Ndd...as far as I know, no one has been notified as of yet. The letters were sent yesterday and were sent to both finalists and those that did not make finalist.

Thanks, I guess we all can still be crossing our fingers. Good luck and thanks for making my weekend a bit less stressful.

Hi, I just got an email (March 3rd) from the chairman of the Cinema and Photog. Dept congratualting me on getting accepted into the C and P program, and asking me if I had any questions. The letter said that C and P was a very competitive program to get into and it is an achievement to be accepted.

This was a nice letter; however, I guess it means I did NOT make the finalist cut for the Park Scholars because if I were a finalist I suppose he would have said congrats on being a finalist. Or, am I reading too much into it?

Did anyone else get an email from the chairman of their respective dept. or a phone call. I live overseas, so maybe the rest of you got phone calls, but I got an email.

Anyone have any insights on whether this is just standard operating procedures, or if i should read it as a rejection for the Park Scholars program. Would be intersted to hear your insights on this.

i guess i am still trying to be optimistic about the Park scholarship-- thanks

ndd

My daughter got an email from the chariman of her dept as well. We didn't read anything into it other than it being standard procedure. It sounded like a "form" letter. I'm sure all applicants are anxious, I know my daughte ris, but hang in there until you get the letter. Good luck!

Yankeegirl--Thanks, for letting me know that. I apprecaite knowing others got an email. Good luck!!
