Parkside Arts & Humanities Housing

Anyone know how it is? I visited during Admitted Students Reception Day and it seemed really nice; however, the common area of the suite is so tiny =( How can you socialize with people in an area as small as a hallway?

Hello! Incidentally, I’m going to be one of the RAs at Parkside A&H next year. My freshman year, I lived in IRC. In my humble opinion, it’s the nicest freshman housing option as far as amenities go, as I’m sure you saw. Socializing with others in your suite, floor, and building is by no means confined to the common area. You probably won’t be spending much time there. Each floor has lounges where students can study, watch TV, etc. A lot of time socializing with your friends in the suite/building will be just hanging out in the lounge or in different people’s rooms. My freshman year in IRC, our suites didn’t have a common area. After a day of classes,my suite mates & I would usually congregate in one of the bedrooms to study, watch TV, play video games/music, & just spend quality time with each other.
I hope that helps!
