parsons acceptances could also be location sensitive. im from orange county in southern california (we use pst) which could be a reason as to why i’m getting it late. im still not sure though
Yeah that’s true. I hear it’s also in order of completed applications, and I did submit like a day from the deadline. I may call them and ask for like the range of days that they’ll be sending results. I’m in nyc to visit the school right now so I wish I knew bc no point in visiting if I don’t get in!
I applied and still have not heard back yet either but the people at my school who did find out they got in applied for parsons and Lang, and I just applied for parsons so I think that might be the reason why? I also applied for the two cities program so maybe that is delaying the process? And to respond to the location comment I am in socal and people have recieved acceptance emails so I do not believe location to be the case
Oh okay, same! I only applied for Parsons as well. I’m wondering if we’ll still receive notifications within the next few days or if it’ll be more into next week.
I also think it’s location sensitive or either they send them out in the order they received them because I’m also from California, Los Angeles. Me and my brother both applied and nothing yet. and I submitted my app the night it was so so idk if maybe that’s why
I also submitted mine the night it was due. I called and the guy was notttt helpful at all. He said results will be coming out “for the next two weeks”
I applied to Parsons only. I live in Connecticut and completed everything almost a month before the deadline and still have not heard back. I’m not sure if location or the time the application was completed matters. Or maybe I’m just unlucky.
The real question is…did anyone receive a rejection yet?
@aamlam Not sure if it is location sensitive. My friend and I both go to the same school in Texas, and she got in yesterday and I still haven’t heard anything.
@pastelrain you got the admitted students tab right ? are you waiting for official mail or an email confirmation?
since it seems like location isnt the case, ive listed some other potential reasons.
- you submitted your application right before deadline, the day of the deadline, or after the deadline. i submitted mine the day of. parsons did send me an email that they extended their deadline this year to january 16th, so it’s okay if you submitted it a day late.
- financial aid. aside from merit, i did hear from past parsons students that the more financial aid you might need, the more time it takes to send out letters because they’re figuring it out. i’m not sure if that’s credible, but it could still be a possibility.
- based on major. i applied for fashion design which the most competitive program, second is illustration i believe. if you applied to either of those, i think it’s safe to say that we’re gonna have to wait a little longer TT____TT
- we all have terrible luck LOL
i’m still pretty confident in my acceptance because i got the admitted students tab, and i’m fine with waiting it out a week or two.
I agree! I applied late (like 11:59 on the 15th) to fashion design as well so the odds aren’t in my favor. But I saw the tab as well so I’m keeping my hopes up. I’m wishing the best for all of us!!
@babytrbl I did get the tab but I am unable to actually click on it for some reason, which worries me. But I see it there, so I don’t know, it could go either way. But yes, I’m still waiting on an official decision.
I submitted my application two weeks before the deadline, and a bit earlier than my friend who got in yesterday. So I don’t think that was the reason. However, she is a BBA applicant, so that may have something to do with it as there is no portfolio required for that major.
I also did not apply for financial aid, so idk.
Illustration major over here, and that makes sense. I guess we’ll be waiting a bit.
Ah well, either way, I don’t think I’ll be attending Parsons, but I really just want to knowww ahhhhhh.
@pastelrain pursuing a bba at parsons is not nearly as competitive as a bfa applicant, and there aren’t as many applicants in general. i think that’s why your friend got in earlier. did she receive an acceptance through email or mail?
what’s your dream school?
ohoho not a self promo or anything but follow me on the gram if u want @solgoggi or @chisolie HAHAHA id love to meet u guys, this thread is full of encouraging people
@babytrbl She got it through email. And my dream school is RISD but lollll, I got into Ringling though which I really like so I’ll probably go there.
i have no news and i didn’t see the accepted students tab should i be worried? i applied for Fashion Design like a minute before the deadline
Did anyone receive a decision yet who submitted their application really close to or the day of the deadline??
How competitive is a BFA Fashion Design major in comparison to a BAFA Fashion Design and Economics major?
I applied the day of the deadline. I just remembered though, the day after I applied I received an email from The New Schools “IT Central” which basically gave me the directions to get my NetID and log onto my.newschool.edu. The email basically says “here’s how to access the technology you’re entitled to as a new school student”. The email also ends with “Welcome to The New School Community and have a Great semester!”. Did anyone else get this? The trick doesn’t work for me but it’d be a little strange that they’d email me this if I were just to be rejected. I’ve also seen someone on here say the trick didn’t work for them but they still got in…
