My teen was amazingly accepted into the BA/BFA degree program today (her first choice, her dream school) with a merit scholarship that knocked our socks off. While waiting for full Financial Aid information as a single mom here, I see I still need lots more help and acrobatics to make her beautiful, truthful dream happen. As I study the numbers for fees, dorms, meal plans, health insurance, tuition above the merit award – let alone supplies, travel, and day-to-day ‘stuff’ in a city – and wondering how to do this, I’m mystified, hopeful, and anxious. I am a single mother and earn under six figures a year which is more than many; if I am this concerned, what about parents with food insecurity, residency challenges, unsafe conditions? I am secure but I am a lone woman of limited means with a brilliant daughter determined to go to her dream school. She got a merit award that totally helps! And I will make this work no matter what. She is my everything. I won’t even go into her portfolio here which knocked my socks off, as so many of her peer applicants must also have done for the committee. Your jobs are so hard. Congrats to the admits. And if you didn’t receive an admission: I worship you, you are the future as well. Please don’t quit. You’re everthing. Thank you for your incredible hope.

I got in for photo and psych with a 27k scholarship last night🥲on my bday. literally best day ever. congrats and good luck to all of you!!!

yup same i called them earlier and they said they’re still reviewing it and they should send it in the next couple of days but this is horrible i wish i got it on the 15th so i wouldn’t be so anxious.
SO ANNOYING. Why can’t they do it like everyone else and release everything at the same time? It seems SO DISORGANIZED.
Anybody heard anything? When I called on Wednesday, they said by the end of the week.

I tried calling this morning and a recording said the admissions office is closed until Monday. So much for mid-December!

No they didn’t. They said “you should hear by the close of business today. Or maybe tomorrow.”
i finally got an update i was rendered to regular decision
i called them though and they said it’s most likely because they’re still awaiting SAT scores but that’s optional so i’m gonna see what they say and hopefully i get my decision now.
