Parsons or SAIC for fashion design?

Parsons is my dream school but it comes with a big package of DEBT. SAIC has an amazing fashion program that I admire but its too conceptual sometimes.
I am also from Chicago so I really wont be in much debt if I stay here.
any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

how big is that package of debt?

Either of these are great. Are you wanting to do the Associates or the Bachelors at Parsons?

That might decrease the debt considerably.

I received about 40,000 a year from Parsons with financial aid and all, but I still need to take out about 20,000 in loans per a year. I want to get a Bachelors.
Thanks for the response!

so, no? yes? maybe? :)

It’s too much debt, in my opinion, especially if you can do SAIC.

You’ll be exposed to some really amazing influences at SAIC, also, which will open you up conceptually and creatively, as you know. Later, if you go to NYC, which you will, you can do one of the certificate programs at Parsons, if you feel you need better draping skills, or whatnot.

Good luck to you! Don’t overlook costume design, as well. SAIC is amazing in this area, and the work can be really fun and collaborative in Chicago in this area.
