My name is Elle, I'm currently a senior, and I'd like to major in fashion design in college. My top two are Pratt and SCAD, although I'm also applying to Parsons and Otis, and maybe FIT.

My GPA is about a 3.7-8, I got a 1940 on the SATs, my transcript last year had 3 APs and this year I'm also taking 3 more.

My portfolio is in this set, it's not finished but this is what I have so far
Portfolio - a set on Flickr

When I went on my Parsons campus tour, I was expecting to love it, but I absolutely hated the city campus and how there was really no character to any of the buildings (on the other hand, Pratt has an old library, an engine room) so Parsons and FIT are lower on my schools list because of their city campuses.

I'd just like to hear your thoughts on my chances of actually getting into these schools based on grades/portfolio.
Thanks!

p.s. and if there's anything you guys think should/shouldn't be in the portfolio i have so far please comment and say so!

These schools look more your art than your grades at school
I do think your pieces are good enough but do you have anything more to do with fashion? If you’re gonna apply for fashion design than maybe you should include more fashion in your portfolio

I think your portifolio is fine. It points out your technique and style, they will probably notice that you can create compositions, which is great. However, I agree that if you want fashion, you should show fashion although SCAD doesn’t require any portifolio unless you want to apply to their Talent-based scholarships. I think you have high chances in getting to SCAD. have you considered RISD?

I have some fashion sketches from a course I did at FIT, but they’re all pretty basic and don’t really show what I’d like to do as a designer… I was hoping I could just explain all of that in my essays.

RISD seems like a bit of a reach for me so I’m not even sure if it’s worth applying.

If you intend to enroll in RISD in case you are admitted you should definitely give it a try. Your scores are great, they will probably want to see how passionate you are about it and how did you develop your skills. It’s a great school. worth trying, it can’t hurt.
