On the UC application, there are four parts. Obviously the first three are for the 1000 word statement itself, and on the fourth the prompt says this.

Use this space only to clarify or expand on other information as directed earlier in the application (e.g., to list additional names, explain citizenship/visa issues, list IB exams that won’t fit in Step 5, etc.). Do not use this space to respond to the three previous questions. Evaluators will not consider the information here as part of your personal statement.

Is there anything specific we should put here?

And, on collegeboard.com under UC Irvine, it shows what they look at, for example community service, work experience etc etc. There is one that says something along the lines of “Applicants interest”

Is there any place on the app that you put down where you are most interested in?

what can i put there (in the personal statement part 4 of 4)?
i was gunna put in my excuse for not having a 3rd year of foreign language. WHich is:
my school starts foreign languages for all students at sophomore year, leaving a total of 3 years by the end of senior year. However, ignorant little me did not know that my school did not offer a 3rd year of japanese thus i, now a senior, am stuck with only 2 years.
i know, i know all of you are saying that i could've gone to a JC nearby to take classes. well, its been hard on me. there is only 1 driver in my family of 4, my mom. my dad was diagnosed with a tumor that obstructs his vision in around may. he had surgery that summer and is now recovering. my mom is on a strict schedule on picking my sister and me up from school and therefore maked it difficult for taking classes outside school hours. (instead of that foreign language period i have a TA period now :])

If they have question 3 already, what is the use for section 4? They sound the same to me. Is it okay if I skip this section? If I decide to put something in, does it have to be in essay form?

I think section 4 is only to be used to do things like the examples they've given you. Crucial things they need to know to clarify things, not another slot for people to explain why their grade was low, etc.
