Part I of the App

Hi all -

My daughter electronically submitted Part I of the app and received an email from Rice confirming receipt and including interview information. The email also stated 'do not forget to mail your signature form'. Is this the signature card with the famous box? And should she send it immediately or with Part II?

She is applying interim decision and is scheduled to take her SAT IIs soon (Math L2 in Oct, Biology in Nov). The time crunch is grueling...National Merit finalist stuff, crafting (hopefully) killer essays, studying for the SAT IIs, vicious course load (AP Calc, AP Chem II, AP Eng IV, AP Econ/Gov't, Anatomy & yearbook editor duties) ......AND on top of that Homecoming is the same day as the SAT II and she is on the Homecoming Committee. So...it would be really awesome if that box were not due until Part II was due...lol!

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I honestly don't think that the box will make or break an application. It just seems like a kind of fun thing to do that will relieve the stress of the application. That is one killer load I couldn't even handle AP Cal with AP Comp and Lit and AP Stats.

Have your daughter call the Admiss office. This kind of question is best left to the college office to answer. (And don't be upset if you don't get a kind answer. Adcom not known for being helpful - but the school is GREAT!!!!)

hehehe anxiousmom...how did ya know I was trying to avoid that phone call? But I will do that....thanks!

I figure, any question is fine to call and ask so long as you don't give your name. ;)
