I know that you all are not in the same area of me, but does anyone know of some companies that are hiring?

I really need a part-time job this school year.

I am 17, and a senior in high school.

What are the best jobs for highschool students? (pay, flexibility..)

Where do you guys enjoy working?

Thanks!

Dude, I’m in the same boat as you at the moment, lol.
You can try applying to Barnes & Nobles or maybe even the movies.

If you have an Ikea near you, you can try there. I just applied at the one in my town recently, and I actually got a call back. I’ve seen hiring signs at my local Office Max, Michael’s, Party City, and Pet Smart lately, so those are possibilities too. It really depends though.

Are you involved in any organizations? Or is there any place you frequent that has part time jobs?

I got one job based on the fact that I run a youth basketball league and sit on the board for a city organization. A sports photography came in to work a shot for my league, saw how well I worked with kids, and offered me a job. Non-profit organizations are great for networking and a good resource for finding jobs.

Another job I have is working at a hockey arena. I love hockey and went to literally every local OHL game for a few years. I became friends with the front office. So, when I mentioned that I was looking for a job, they offered me one. I was there all the time anyways- they figured they’d pay me to do a job rather than bringing in an outsider who wasn’t familiar with the place. Places you frequent (where they know your face/name) are another really good way to get a job.

Just throwing things out there :). Good luck!
